When people see me start painting a blank canvas in person, and I paint live at many charity events, they often comment on how amazed they are as the colours start to take shape.
Now since not everyone gets to attend these live events recently while I was at my studio I put together this short two minute video as I get started with a new blank canvas.
For a quick breakdown you can see me start by pouring on a few different colours onto the canvas, then I take one of my tools to start spreading the colour out to the edges of the canvas.
About half way through I switch to a different brush as I’ve gone from a darker acrylic paint and I’m now working on a lighter orange colour.
As the paint gets spread you can start to see the underlying layout.
I could only hold the phone up to record this for so long, and I needed my other hand for the detail work I started adding after it dried more.
To help show that off I snapped a quick picture once I’d been working on it for a few more hours later that you can see at the end of the video.
Hope you enjoyed the walk through and if you’d like to see more videos like this leave me a comment below!
