Now I need some opinions. I have this painting that I’ve started, and was planning on doing more to it…but Bill thinks it’s done, and is telling me not to touch it. So I thought maybe it would be fun to get some opinions from all you readers….
So here it is. I’ve put a pole on the side of the page, so let me know if you think I’m done or if I should go for it on this one!!
This painting is 4 feet square, so it’s a big’un….

HI Karen…I suppose it is finished if this is all that YOU have to say in the piece. Is it site specific or do you look at it and say there ought to be more? It has movement…and is somewhat dimensional but it lacks what many of your other pieces have…intrigue. I don’t mean to be harsh…it looks more decorative than deep, though. Did you use a roller? Perhaps try “rolling” or “printing” (like the master colorist we all knew and loved) in more colors, shapes. What do you have to lose? Push the envelop and see what happens…dad always did.
Go for it! I think my vote is for more…but again…it depends upon YOU!

I LOVE it but you are the artist—not Bill!

From a small scale it is very intriguing with lots of motion and I almost see water lilies in it, but it is missing some of that detailed touch when you zoom in that your other works have with the enhancement in black or other colours, thats the stuff that draws me is the importance and placement of every squiggle, and dot.

girl, shake it off, walk away…I SAID PUT DOWN THE BRUSH AND STEP AWAY FROM THE PAINTING> you are done here…this piece hypnotises me it grabs me at least as deep as anything my father has ever done. I would gladly buy it or trade for one of dad’s.
