Each year I look forward to heading off on a special retreat with some other fabulous artists. It becomes a week where I have no other distractions, and I can keep my mind focused on my Artwork. This is an absolute must for me this year. I need the time to gain perspective on my work, and to introspect on where the art is going.
So many distractions have come my way, from dealing with financial pressures, family ups and downs, and the on-going quest to simplify my life while still growing my Art Business. All this can finally take a back seat so I can find myself again.
It also helps to have the concentrated time to bust out a whole bunch of new work for the upcoming shows that I will be providing for. Re-working some pieces that have haunted my studio for much too long, and finishing up some projects that have pulled me in other directions.
My connection to internet is limited at the retreat, but I do often try to post things to my facebook page as they are created.
